SAN ANTONIO AREA SERVICE
Fleas
Fleas are tiny laterally-flattened jumpers that feed on warm-blooded hosts — usually pets, but they'll bite humans too. In Texas yards, the cat flea is by far the most common.
Scientific name: Ctenocephalides felis (cat flea — most common species) Service area: San Antonio + within ~15 miles (Helotes, Stone Oak, Leon Springs, Fair Oaks Ranch).

Identification
Tiny reddish-brown bugs on pets or in pet bedding. Itchy bite welts on humans typically on the lower legs/ankles. "Flea dirt" (digested blood) looks like coarse pepper on pet fur.
Risk profile
Allergic dermatitis in pets is the most common impact. Some fleas carry tapeworm and (rarely in Texas) plague. Flea allergy in humans causes intense itching but rarely requires medical care.
How we treat it
Indoor + yard treatment + pet treatment must happen together or fleas come back. We do indoor IGR + targeted spray, yard fogging in problem zones, and we coordinate with your vet on pet topical/oral. Recurring monthly is the pattern in heavy infestations.
